Card Counting
To help you learn card counting fast the application includes multiple options for displaying the current card count. When you first start learning you will probably wish to leave the card count on all the time and play with just one deck. Once you know the basics you can display the count at the end of each hand to confirm your own count. As your skill level improves you can increase the number of decks and set the card count to automatically display only at the bottom of the deck. With any display option you can manually display the card count at any time with a simple touch.
Card counting systems include:
- Hi-Lo (as seen in the movie 21)
- Hi-Opt II
- Mentor
- Zen
- Plus 5 more
Fast Game Play
While animation can make a game pleasant to look at, it can slow down game play to a crawl. The Blackjack application does use animation to provide visual cues to the state of the game (cards are dealt, bets are moved on and off the table) but all animation is programmed to be very fast.
Even though the animation was designed to be simple and fast you do not need to wait for the animation to complete before you continue playing. For example, at the end of each hand there is a very quick animation to move the chips to the dealer or the player depending on who won. However, you don’t need to wait before requesting the next deal. The instance you double tap the screen or tap the deal button, the animation stops and the next hand is dealt. You control the speed of the game. For the hardcore impatient player you can turn animation off completely.
If you never take insurance you can turn off that option and not be bothered by insurance requests. You can set an option to automatically stand on any hand total from 17 to 21.
You can enter your bets via the keypad or you can use a ‘pinch close’ gesture to decrease your bet or a ‘pinch open/zoom’ gesture to increase it. The faster you pinch the more the bet will increase or decrease. Double tap your next bet to double the bet. Triple tap to cut the bet in half.
