Next app: A better alarm clock

What? Another alarm clock application? Yes. I travel a lot and I needed a better alarm clock application than any of the ones currently available so I wrote my own. More about the unique features later.

Blackjack accepted by the App store

The Blackjack iPhone application has been accepted by the Apple iTunes App store. It should be available starting on Feb. 2. Like the Wheel of Chance application, the whole process took less than 2 weeks and there was only one rejection.

Blackjack now has new and improved buttons

Blackjack has been resubmitted to the iTunes app store with standard buttons that disappear when unneeded instead of the segment control buttons that were utilized at first.

Human interface guideline rejection

The Blackjack iPhone application was rejected because of a human interface guideline issue. I was using a segment control for the hit, stand, double, etc buttons. Since I wanted to keep the buttons the same size even when there were only 2 options, I simply disabled the unused buttons. This apparently is a no-no.

Blackjack resubmitted with new features

The Blackjack iPhone application has been resubmitted to the iTunes App store after the addition of a couple of items. Displaying hand totals is now an option and the game now supports 9 different card counting systems.

Blackjack removed from App store review

I decided to add a couple of new features before releasing the Blackjack program so I have removed it from the App store review process. Should only take a day or two.

Blackjack submitted to iTunes App store

Thank you to all the beta testers of the Blackjack iPhone application. It has now been submitted to the App store. Since the App store requires a unique name for each application and Blackjack was already taken, the app was submitted under the name “21 Blackjack”.

Accepted

The Wheel of Chance iPhone application was accepted by Apple for the iTunes App store. Only 1 rejection and less than 2 weeks for the entire process. Not too bad.

My first rejection

Well my first rejection from the App store. The Wheel of Chance application was rejected for not following the human interface guidelines. I list results in a table view as items are selected from the wheel. No action was taken if a user touched an item in that table but it would stay highlighted. Having an item stay highlighted in a table view is not allowed. My bad. Fixed (1 new function with 1 line of code) and resubmitted for round 2.
